The final whistle sounded 48 hours ago, but the match is still not over. Behind the scenes, Parisian anger does not fall. And the league has just thrown oil on the fire.

Defeat is one thing, humiliation is another. Two days after the classic lost at the Vélodrome (1-0), Paris Saint-Germain has still not digested. Not the result, but the way. The “furious joy” of Marseille supervision has left deep traces, and anger, far from calming, continues to go internally, fueled by a decision that has just fallen.

Of zerbi punished, but the evil is done

This Wednesday, the LFP disciplinary committee returned its verdict: Roberto de Zerbi is suspended a firm match (more than one suspended) for his incandescent behavior at the end of the match. A sanction which gives reason, on paper, to the Parisian camp. But it is far from being enough to turn off the fire. Because what still does not go to Paris are the words of the Italian coach.

His release at a press conference, where he transformed victory into an ideological fight against “power”, is experienced as a calculated and unacceptable provocation. The suspension of the league only concerns its attitude on the edge of the field, not its speech. And it was this speech that wounded PSG the most in its pride.

Of Zerbi suspended, but the anger of PSG is intact

An anger that infuses in the locker room

This anger also infused in the Parisian locker room. The altercation between several players and security at the end of the match, or Hakimi's “chambering” towards the supporters, were not just hot reactions. It was the symptom of deep frustration, a feeling of having been not only beaten, but also lacking in respect.

The match is over, but the bitterness is tenacious. The sanction of De Zerbi will not change the case. PSG checked the date of the return match. And that day, it will not only be a question of taking three points. It will be a question of washing an affront. Revenge is a dish that is eaten cold, and in Paris, we started to prepare it.
