The 2025 women's golden balloon returns to Catalonia after the new historic coronation of Aitana Bonmatí. Two arsenal players close.

The Ballon d'Or remains a Spanish property! FC Barcelona feminine wins a 5th golden ball in its history thanks to the coronation of Aitana Bonmatí. The midfielder achieves a historic hat -trick by becoming the first female player to win three Ballon d'Or immediately. A feat only achieved in male through Michel Platini and Lionel Messi.

Bonmatí is ahead of Mariona Caldentey, also a Spanish midfielder. The arsenal player fails at the foot of the feat but can keep her head high since it is her very first appointment for a golden ball. His club partner, the English International Alessia Russo, closes the march.

Full box for Bonmatí and Barça

On the side of the collective course, Barça comes out of a full cardboard in Superliga, but remains on a bitter defeat in the female Champions League final against the team of its evening opponent, Arsenal (0-1). Nevertheless, the technical finesse of Aitana Bonmatí, which remains on a flawless regularity for several years now in club as well as in selection, will have convinced the voters to offer it this third consecutive coronation.

FC Barcelona therefore leaves the ceremony in possession of the female and male Kopa trophy, as well as with the Golden Ball 2025. A (almost) total success.
