After a catastrophic start to the season, Atlético de Madrid moved to Mallorca's lawn on the occasion of the 5th day of Liga. Diego Simeone had chosen to align Julian Álvarez and Raspadori in attack, leaving Antoine Griezmann on the bench. But nothing happened as planned: Álvarez missed a penalty in the 14th minute and the Colchoneros then lost Alexander Sørloth, excluded in the 72nd minute. A numerical inferiority which could have considerably complicated the task to them.
Despite this context, Conor Gallagher managed to open the scoring in the 79th minute, giving hope to Atlético. But this advance did not last: Muriqi equalized for Mallorca in the 85th minute, therefore sealing a draw. A new disillusionment for the men of Diego Simeone, who have left a victory again and stagnate in 12th place in Liga, while Mallorca remains blocked in 19th position.
