Liverpool is Gravenberch

There is half full glass, the accounting version: Liverpool won its first six games of the Premier League season and in the Champions League. And there is the content, less attractive. After having won their first five successes by scoring the winning goal after the 80th minute, and sometimes far beyond, the Reds still struggled to win the derby against Everton (2-1).

This meeting also had an air of deja vu since the title champions opened the scoring for the sixth time in a row. And they even led 2-0 for the 4th time. But after being joined at the score by Bournemouth, Everton and Atlético, before all the same to prevail, the men of Arne Slot did not really kill the suspense against the Toffees, clearly lacking in control in the second half.

Gravenberch-Ekitike, winning duo

It had however ideally started, once again, with a Ryan Gravenberch once again amazing. The Dutch community has magnificently resumed a little ladle of Mohamed Salah (1-0, 10th), before sending a perfect opening for Hugo Ekitiké, the other very nice satisfaction from the start of the season (2-0, 29th).

The rest was therefore more slow, especially after Everton's goal, signed Idrissa Gueye, after a good job from Jack Grenish and Iliman Ndiaye (2-1, 58th). The shy entries of Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, the two most expensive recruits of the summer, did not help the Reds who had played on Wednesday evening and undoubtedly lacked energy this Saturday afternoon. The main thing is still well assured. But Liverpool can (and must) do better in the game.
