Despite his defeat against Real Madrid (1-2) this Tuesday in the Champions League, Olympique de Marseille delivered an encouraging service. The band at Roberto de Zerbi was able to compete with the Spanish vice-champion during a good part of the game, before giving in a new error at the end of the match.

Invited to react after the final whistle, the director of Marseille football, Mehdi Benatia, was measured as the classic approaches in the face of Paris Saint-Germain, Sunday in Ligue 1. He judges the frustrating result, but especially sees it as the sign of a progression, provided that the team continues on this dynamic by showing more.

Between regrets and ambition

“Confidence before Paris? It's a big word. You go out with a defeat. But in any case, you have to take into account that we are able to thwart a top team. PSG, with our supporters, at home, we expect this kind of performance but with more desire and personality ”said the Marseille leader at the microphone of Canal+.

“I regret these first 30 minutes. But for having played here (in Santiago Bernabéu, editor's note), I know that it is not easy. It is the law of the Gros, and Real Madrid, it is a big one ”, concluded the former Moroccan international.
