Rabiot, Benatia breaks the silence on his departure

Consequently of his muscular altercation with Jonathan Rowe, Adrien Rabiot was pushed towards the exit at Olympique de Marseille. At the end of the transfer window, the French midfielder finally took the direction of Italy, where he joined AC Milan. A summer movement which also marks his reunion with Massimiliano Allegri, the coach under which he had already evolved at Juventus Turin.

In an interview with WorldMedhi Benatia returned to this stormy episode. The director of Marseille football notably recalled his privileged link with the player, despite the incident which precipitated the break.

“I felt that he was attached to OM”

“I am very close to Adrien, whom I really like. I always said it, before, during and after the episode. But unfortunately there was this event which, for me, went too far, and then degenerated when his family got involved … “, said the former Moroccan central defender.

From Benatia himself, Rabiot's return was not completely dismissed. “Either Adrien decided to do what it was necessary to reintegrate it, or we made things easier for him to go elsewhere. I chatted with him a few days before he left for selection, for a good hour. I felt that he was attached to OM, but that in the same time he believed that he had done my best to pick up the songs … so it was better to consider his departure ”he confessed.
