Paris Saint-Germain began the new Ligue 1 season as it finished the last. Dominator, the club of the capital has signed three victories in as many meetings, registering eight goals for only three collected. If the team has collectively showed its superiority, Joao Neves particularly distinguished himself during the month of August. It was logically that he was appointed for the UNFP trophy of the player of August in Ligue 1.
It was especially during the meeting of August 30 against Toulouse that the Lusitanian international specially highlighted. Author of a double from elsewhere, the Parisian community greatly participated in the success of his family that day (3-6, 3rd day).
He will nevertheless have serious competition for this honorary title since the other two nominees are Tyler Morton (Olympique Lyonnais) and Ilan Kebbal (Paris FC). The latter notably scored three goals and offered a decisive pass. The votes are open and everyone can vote by going to the UNFP site. Deadline: September 19.
PSG still well placed
Last year three Parisians had obtained the trophy: Bradley Barcola in September, Ousmane Dembélé in January and Désiré Doué in March. Olympique de Marseille had also been a party three times, including twice for the Mason Greenwood (December and April) and one for Amine Gouiri (February).
Two other players had been rewarded: Stéphanois Zuriko Davitashvili in October, and Lille Jonathan David the following month.
