About a year ago in Buenos Aires, the former Star of Paris Saint-Germain, Edinson Cavani, played a decisive role in saving the life of Ema, the daughter of the Uruguayan journalist Rafa Cotelo, affected by a chronic neurological disease. The teenager had to undergo an urgent surgical operation, but the clinic required immediate payment in cash, impossible to bring together for the father at the time. Distramed, Cotelo then contacted Edinson Cavani, with whom he maintains a longtime friendship. The Boca Juniors striker immediately reacted to find a solution, demonstrating exemplary generosity and responsiveness. So far this case had remained secret, but it was Coto himself who revealed it in an interview with the Uruguayan media El Observador.

Unable to go to the clinic in time, El Matador commissioned a restaurateur friend, who appeared a few minutes later with the necessary money. “He emptied the cash register, everything he had sold that evening, and brought everything to me”said Rafa Cotelo, stressing: “For me, he was like a guardian angel. »» Thanks to this gesture, the EMA operation took place successfully. A few weeks later, the journalist and his daughter reimbursed Cavani, who had not asked for anything in return, thus confirming his disinterested and human gesture. As a reminder, Edinson Cavani, it's 200 goals with PSG, 104 with Naples and 54 in Uruguayan selection.
