Three decades after its participations in 1994 and 1998 editions, in the United States and then in France, Norway is in a position of strength to qualify for the 2026 World Cup organized in North America. Erling Haaland and his teammates have been a 3-0 victory against Italy since last June. They have just inflicted an 11-1 Moldova, with a quintuplet of the Manchester City scorer, who is now at 48 goals in 45 selections!
The situation is simple: the Norwegians are six points ahead of the Italians, but with one more match, before facing Israel in October, then Estonia and finally the Nazional in mid-November. With its difference in XXL goals, the Scandinavian training can even be satisfied with a small defeat in San Siro on November 16. Not to mention that the Azzurri must also not achieve poor performance until then.
Only 33rd in the FIFA global ranking (and 18th European nation), Norway will be part of the heads of the series or the second hat of the lot of the 2026 World Cup, scheduled for December 5 (live from Washington DC, at 6 p.m. in France). Enough to make Rode-HVITE-BLA (red-white-blue) one of the opponents to absolutely avoid!
Norway for the Blues?
In the event of participation in the World Cup, Norway will appear in hat 3 of the draw and can compose the famous group of the death of the edition organized in Canada, the United States and Mexico. The French team (if it qualifies) will accompany Spain, Argentina, England, Brazil, Portugal among the heads of production. The big concern for all the big nations is that Germany is currently in hat 2 in case of qualification!
Only European selections can be found in a hen. Norway can therefore inherit the Blues or the Roja of Lamine Yamal then from Morocco, Colombia or Uruguay from hat 2. But Haaland can also find himself confronting the defending world champions led by Lionel Messi and Mannschaft from hat 2!
