German media Bild Reveals that Hasan Salihamidzic, sports director of the Bavarian club, went to Barcelona to meet Ivan de la Peña, then a player agent, with the aim of convincing Lamine Yamal to join Germany with Gavi, another Catalan player.
An agreement would have even been concluded between the Lamine Yamal family and the German club to bring the player in 2023, due to regulation on minor players, with a contract up to 5 million euros. If this sum seems derisory today, it represented a considerable investment for a young player.

Despite this agreement, Lamine Yamal ultimately did not join Bayern Munich. The reason? The intervention of Jorge Mendes. When the famous agent resumed the rights of the player, he immediately ended negotiations with the Bavarian club, thus breaking a project which nevertheless seemed well committed.
