Bis repetita. Spain has perfectly launched its qualification campaign for the 2026 World Cup with a second victory in as many matches. After its success against Bulgaria Thursday (3-0), La Roja won this Sunday in Konya against Turkey, on a crushing score of 6-0.

From the 6th minute, Pedri opened the scoring on a rolled strike from the right foot, perfectly served by Nico Williams. Quickly, the Spanish took control of the match and already led 3-0 at the break, thanks in particular to the double of Mikel Merino. The offensive festival continued in the second half.

On the return from the locker room, Ferran Torres, launched by Lamine Yamal, scored the fourth Spanish goal. Merino and Pedri then reoffended, the middle of the arsenal signing a hat-trick and the Barcelona a double, bringing the scoring to 6-0. La Roja dominated the end -to -end meeting, facing a completely overwhelmed Türkiye.

Concern for Nico Williams

But the evening was not completely idyllic for Spain. Nico Williams, a decisive passer on the opening of Pedri's score, had to leave the field in the 43rd minute, hit at the top of the left thigh. The Athletic Bilbao winger was replaced by Ferran Torres, causing a slight cold on the Spanish bench.

The first images raised the worst for Williams, who was drinking when leaving the field, but the medical team quickly intervened. No specific details on the severity of his injury has yet filtered. For the moment, Spain remains solid at the top of group E and continues its journey to the 2026 World Cup.
