For the first time since its beginnings with the French team A in November 2023, Warren Zaïre-Emery was not called by Didier Deschamps. The young community of Paris Saint-Germain, faced with strong competition in the middle with João Neves, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz, does not appear in the list of hopes of Gérald Batic. On Tuesday, the coach detailed the reasons for this absence during a press conference.

“With Didier, we analyzed the situation, this is a case apart from Warren. It is not the young hope that was going to play a match to be of service. For me, he is a player who became a full member of A and therefore with the World Cup goal. Bringing him back for a Euro hopes was complicated. The door is not closed, we will see how it will evolve ”explains Batic. He adds having discussed the situation with Zaïre-Emery and Deschamps before making this decision.

The former deputy of Thierry Henry took the opportunity to defend the player against media criticism. “I always find you hard and demanding, but it is because you believe a lot in them. Last year, you were very hard with Désiré Doué, and I replied that they had to be given time. It's the same for Warren “he underlines.

A calculated break

Baticle, however, insists on the youth and the potential of the 19 -year -old Parisian. “He had a quick ascent and showed a lot of maturity, but he remains young. He crosses a phase with less playing time, but he has mind and can come back at the top. Warren has great potential and great professionalism. I am convinced that he will come back ”continues the coach.

Finally, Gérald Batic mentioned the importance of this break for “Wze”. “He was ready to come, but this break may be necessary after an ultra-charged season with PSG, between the coronation in the Champions League and the lost final of the World Cup. On this gathering, he will stay in his preparation with Paris and we will advise for the following. I wish him a great sequence with her club and regain his place in A ”he concludes.
