The French environment spins Milan after less than a year in the Marseille city.

It is now official. Adrien Rabiot's Marseille adventure ends after less than a year. The French midfielder leaves OM to join AC Milan, where a contract until 2028 awaits him. A separation acted in coldness, far from the euphoria which had accompanied its arrival last summer on the Canebière.

Milan put 10 million on Rabiot

AC Milan formalized the signature of Adrien Rabiot this Monday evening. The Rossoneri spend 10 million euros to attach the services of the French international, part of which will return to the player according to the agreements negotiated when he arrived in Marseille. OM, for its part, is satisfied with a laconic “Good luck Adrien Rabiot” To announce the departure of his former midfielder.

For Rabiot, it's a homecoming. The former Parisian finds Italy, where he had shone at Juventus, and especially Massimiliano Allegri on the Milanese bench. A duo that had worked perfectly in Turin and hopes to reproduce the same alchemy in San Siro. At 30 and a year old from the World Cup, the Frenchman is betting on this new challenge to relaunch his career.

OM loses Rabiot, Milan recovers it

A divorce consumed

This signature definitively acts the break between Rabiot and Marseille. After the incident with Jonathan Rowe at the start of the season and the tensions that followed, the bridges seemed definitively cut. Despite Roberto de Zerbi’s mediation attempts, no going back was possible. OM thus loses an experienced player who had contributed to the qualification in the Champions League.

For Ligue 1, it is a notable loss. A French international of this level which leaves our championship for Italy, it always hurts. Milan recovers a player still in age of age, capable of bringing his experience and technique in an ambitious workforce. The Marseille episode will remain as a short but eventful parenthesis in the career of Rabiot.
