The Senegalese international had arrived in Munich earlier this week to finalize a loan to the Bavarian club, but Chelsea decided to cancel the transfer following the injury of Liam Delap. Bayern having ended the negotiations, the attacker will return to London.
Bayern makes its final decision concerning the transfer of Jackson
Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea), April 26, 2025 against Everton.
Jackson's dream to play Bayern is over: the German champion decided not to follow up on a transfer for the Senegalese striker before the end of the summer transfer window, according to Florian PLETENBERG of Sky Sports. Bayern withdrew from the contract and the player and his representative Ali Barat will now return to London.
Jackson, 24, went to Germany after Bayern concluded an agreement with Chelsea for the attacker's loan for a season with the option of purchase, for a total amount of 69 million pounds Sterling (80 million euros / 93.5 million dollars). However, Chelsea informed Bayern that he would not follow up on the transaction following the injury to the hamstrings of Delap during the 2-0 victory against Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Earlier this summer, Jackson had been deemed superfluous at Stamford Bridge following the arrivals of Delap and JoĂŁo Pedro, respectively from Ipswich Town and Brighton and Hove Albion. However, following Delap's injury, Enzo Maresca had only Pedro as the only attacker in his workforce, which prompted him to recall Jackson.
