This summer transfer window was marked by the great return of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Olympique de Marseille. Only a year after his departure to Al-Qadsiah FC in Saudi Arabia, the Gabonese striker found the fervor of the velodrome.

However, the interested party himself said that his adventure in the Gulf could have ended much earlier. The former Gunner revealed that he was approached in January by Medhi Benatia, director of Marseille football, who wanted to repatriate him to the Canebière.

“I was super happy”

“At the time (in January), he said to me, 'Are you sure, don't you want to come back on loan?' I replied: 'I think my club is not going to accept too much in relation to how it goes'. I did not plan to move from Saudi Arabia. Good after, the Al-Qadsiah club has raised the option to complete my contract ”Pea told the microphone of Telefoot This Sunday.

The former Borussia Dortmund player felt, however, that his story with OM was not over. “And so, from there, I started to receive messages from Medhi, it's too funny because I see him coming, it's too funny. Messages, then we called each other, and behind I had Pablo Longoria. I was super happy, it makes you want to go to war with them ”he added, imbued with intact enthusiasm.
