Retired for a year after a last experience in Japan (in front Kawasaki), Bafé Gomis, 40, evokes the coaches who marked him during his career in the columns of The team SATURDAY. The center-forward formed at AS Saint-Etienne thanks Frédéric Antonetti, Élie Baup and Laurent Roussey, three of his coaches in the Greens.
Antonetti, on the Stéphanois bench from 2001 to 2004, was the coach who launched Gomis in January 2004, in Ligue 2, while Laurent Roussey, in post until November 2008, allowed the attacker to explode and integrate the French team. “La Panther” was international international from 2008 to 2013 (12 matches, 3 goals), not finding the group despite its good season at OM in 2016-2017.
Baup, on the bench of ASSE after Antonetti, did not really bet on Gomis, but the latter was forever marked by a chat by the coach to the cap, during a trip to the Forézienne training in Metz, on January 11, 2006.
Élie Baup “made us a script at the Casa de Papel”
“There are many injured (notably Julien Sablé, editor's note) And players at the African Nations Cup. He calls on young people from the center. He galvanized by putting us in the shoes of a band of robbers! He told us that no one was going to swing the other to the police, that we were united, a family, that we were going to make the break of the century. He had given us a scenario to La Casa de Papel Before the time. ASSE was not in a good situation. We win 1-0. And we take the premium! »»launched Bafé Gomis in The team.
Saint-Etienne won in Saint-Symphorien on a single goal scored by Hélder Postiga in front of Grégory Wimbée (16th). The Portuguese striker was accompanied by Frédéric Piquionne, replaced by Bafétimbi Gomis in the 24th minute. Baup had composed a very defensive team with a line of five with Alaeddine Yahia, Vincent Hognon and Zoumana Camara in the axis to protect Jérémie Janot, with Loïc Perrin defensive midfielder.
