Champions League draw: the death group for PSG, OM and Monaco

The Champions League begins this Thursday for the three tricolor representatives: PSG, Olympique de Marseille and AS Monaco. The three clubs, such as the 33 other teams engaged in the league phase, indeed meet in Monaco to attend the draw for the first phase of the C1.

And PSG, holding the title and logically present in hat 1, has as much fear of this draw as the sky and white, placed in hats 3, or that the club of the Principality, which appears in hat 4. Consequence of the new formula of the Champions League entered into force last season. All the teams committed must indeed meet two teams from each hat and therefore so likely to inherit a group of death.

Naples and Newcastle in scarecrows

The red and blue probably know it better than anyone. With notably Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Arsenal, but also Stuttgart, the PSV Eindhoven and Gijon, the capital's club had indeed inherited the group of death last year. And it could therefore be the same this season.

The opponents to be avoided obviously do not miss in hat 1, which bring together the eight best teams in the UEFA ranking, and it is the same in hat 2.. In hat 3, two equip are clearly a scarecrow: Naples and Tottenham, but Sporting Portugal would not be a good draw either. And it is even more obvious in hat 4, where Newcastle and Athletic Bilbao would constitute the worst prints.

Since a team cannot face more than two opponents of the same country, the Death group for PSG, OM and ASM would also include Bayern Munich and Real Madrid (or Barça) in hat 1 as well as Juventus Turin and Benfica in hat 2.
