The 24 -year -old Brazilian international is expected for an expensive transfer of the Santiago Bernabéu this summer, after seeing his playing time reduced by the new coach Xabi Alonso. Rodrygo made some appearances against Borussia Dortmund and the Red Bull Salzburg during the Club World Cup, before missing his entry into play during the first Real in Liga match against Osasuna.

According to Spanish magazine Marca, if Real does not seem to actively seek to sell Rodrygo, the club is preparing to receive late offers from Arsenal, Liverpool and City before the closing of the Premier League transfer window on September 1.
Arrived at Real from the Brazilian club of Santos for 45 million euros in 2019, Rodrygo quickly established itself as one of the first names of the team under the direction of former coach Carlo Ancelotti. The striker scored 68 goals in 270 appearances in all competitions for Real, winning three titles of Spanish champion and two Champions Leagues.
It remains to be seen if Rodrygo will play a role during the trip of Real at the promoted Real Oviedo in Liga on Sunday. Alonso's men began their 2025-26 season with a 1-0 tight victory against Osasuna in Bernabéu on August 19.
