After Juventus' victory over Parma on Sunday in Serie A (2-0), Weston McKennie was the victim of racist insults proferified by Parmesans supporters. Entering the 89th minute of play, the American midfielder was training on the lawn after the match with his replacement teammates not used at the time of the facts. The Turin club reacted in the process, by publishing a statement which firmly condemns the incident and announces its cooperation with the competent authorities to identify the officials.
“Tonight, at the end of the match against Parma, Weston McKennie was the target of discriminatory expressions of a racist nature on the part of some people present in the visitors sector, while he was training on the field with his teammates who did not participate in the meeting. Juventus firmly condemns this episode as well as any form of racism, and will bring its full collaboration to the authorities of sports justice in order to identify those responsible ”indicates the old lady on her social networks.
