Jakub Jankto, the first player to come out in Serie A, put an end to his career at just 29 years old. The former Cagliari field-ground, which announced that it was homosexual in February 2023, explains on Instagram that a serious injury to the ankle ligament prevents him from continuing his career, and that he therefore prefers to stop here: “I tried to overcome it to attack the season, but unfortunately, it is not possible”he wrote in his Instagram story.
The Czech now wishes to get closer to his son David, almost six years old, and will train the U17 of Dukla Prague. After passages to Udinese and Sampdoria, and a return to Italy under Claudio Ranieri, Jakub Jankto turns the page of his professional career while remaining involved in football and with his family. We can only wish him a good retirement.
