FC Martigues sink more

Still in Ligue 2 last season, FC Martigues will probably have to evolve now in the ninth national level.

Last month, the National Management Control Directorate excluded the Martégal club from all the national championships to send it to Regional 1, the seventh division of French football.

In the absence of “financial guarantees required” to evolve on a regional scale however, FC Martigues is again demoted, this time by the Regional Commission for the Control of Clubs of the Mediterranean League.

Consequently, while the team coached by Salimou Mramboini was to launch its season in R1 against the Berre Sporting Club this weekend, it is in the district, in departmental, that the FCM will finally have to play. An appeal of this decision is in preparation, specifies the aforementioned regional daily.
