FC Barcelona is starting its Liga season this Saturday (7:30 p.m.) against Mallorca, with its liga-custion of the Spanish King-Supercoupe, won last season. Hansi Flick, for his second year on the bench, hopes to confirm this dynamic despite summer preparation marked by administrative uncertainties and a transfer window deemed insufficient.

The Blaugrana summer was discreet on the transfer market. Few reinforcements came to support an already solid workforce, but constrained by the rules of financial fair play. Like last year, several new recruits are still not recorded a few hours before kick -off, a scenario that is starting to weigh on the preparation of the Catalan club.

This situation did not fail to annoy Flick. “I am not satisfied, but we are aware of the current club situation”recognized the German coach. “For me, this is a situation that does not particularly welcome me. I trust the club, but we have to wait this Saturday ”he added, while recalling that the previous season, despite similar beginnings, everything had ended well.

“We still have time”

The main victim of these administrative slowness is called Marcus Rashford. The English star, who arrived this summer, should not play against Mallorca, his registration having not yet been validated by the Liga. The same problem also concerns Roony Bardghji and Gerard Martín, who remain on hold.

President Joan Laporta is however reassuring: “If it is not before the start of the liga, we still have time (until August 31) »»he said. In the meantime, Flick will have to deal without some of his recruits for this first meeting, a frustrating situation while Barça already targets a perfect departure to defend its titles.
