A year after having caused a scandal by offering Ligue 1 up to 39.99 euros per month (!), Dazn is still entering a new dimension. The British group once nicknamed “the Netflix of Sport” is no longer the broadcaster of the French championship but is now a distributor of choice. Hexagonal football followers may have gone too fast by going directly to Ligue 1+ without going through the Dazn platform.
For exactly the same price, namely 9.99 euros per month for three months then 14.99 euros per year, Dazn has a fairly incredible offer. Ligue 1+, which launched this Friday before the first shock between Stade Rennais and OM (kick -off 8:45 p.m.), is included in the Dazn subscription in France, but not only.
Dazn had already announced that all of Italian football (Serie A, the Italian Cup and the Italian Supercup), as well as Dutch Eredivisia, the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, or the Betclic Elite, the D1 of French basketball, Golf, MMA and Boxing, accompanied the channels of Ligue 1+ for 10 then 15 euros per month.
Saudi Arabia arrives on Dazn
The group founded by the former Oligarch Sir Len Blavatnik is even stronger by integrating into its offer the best moments of the Spanish Liga (a championship which is obviously broadcast by Bein Sports, distributed by Canal+), as well as the Saudi Pro League, the Saudi Arabian Championship where Cristiano Ronzema, N'Golo Kanté, Lacazette, Riyad Mahrez or Yassine Bounou, at the rate of three games a day.
Note that the PIF, the famous investment funds of Saudi Arabia, has entered the capital of Dazn by injecting a billion dollars for 10% (Dazn then gave FIFA a billion for the TV rights of the World Cup of clubs to broadcast meetings for free). The London -based platform could not let the rights of the Saudi championship pass, abandoned in France by Canal.
