This Wednesday, it was back to school for Paris Saint-Germain with the UEFA supercup. A second (after the 1996 defeat against Juventus 9-2 in the cumulative of two matches) for the Parisian club in the competition since he was qualified following his victory in the Champions League last season. Similar scenario for his evening opponent, Tottenham, holding the title in the Europa League. For this first outing of the season, Paris Saint-Germain presented itself in a 4-3-3 with the recruit Lucas Chevalier in the goals behind Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Willian Pacho and Nuno Mendes. In the middle, Warren Zaïre-Emery replaced Joao Neves suspended and was with Vitinha with Désiré Doué. Finally, Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia composed the attack. For his part, Tottenham was established in 3-5-2 with Guglielmo Vicario in the cages. In front of him, Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Kevin Danso, Micky Van de Ven and Djed Spence made up the defense. Rodrigo Bentancur was positioned as a sentry with Joao Palhinha and Pape Matar Sarr. In front of Richarlison was associated with Mohammed Kudus.

From the outset, Paris Saint-Germain decided to set foot on the ball when Tottenham responded with an intense pressing. Served by Warren Zaïre-Emery, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia struck the first, but it was imprecise (9th). The lack of rhythm of the Parisians was visible and it was Tottenham who was first showed with a good transmission of Mohammed Kudus for Richarlison in the depth. The Brazilian struck in first intention, but Lucas Chevalier won and pushed the ball in a corner (23rd). Just behind, Bradley Barcola was trying to make the difference in his corridor and sent a good center in the English surface, but Pope Matar Sarr contrasts in a corner (29th). It was Tottenham who dominated his subject and it took a double intervention by Marquinhos before Mohammed Kudus to avoid a very dangerous action (33rd). While a good center of KHVICHA KVAratskhelia returned to Ousmane Dembélé, the latter struck above the frame (37th). A moment of rocking since just behind a long free kick from Guglielmo Vicario extended by the head by Cristian Romero, Joao Palhinha resumed at close range, but Lucas Chevalier pushed on the bar. However, Micky Van de Ven followed well and was going to conclude (1-0, 39th). A sacred blow on the head of Paris Saint-Germain which was going to pass close to the blow of the Massue before the break, but the head of Mohammed Kudus was going to hit the post (45th). The Ghanaian was finally reported offside.

PSG has completely overturned Tottenham

In the second half, Tottenham returned hard and Richarlison set off a shot after a loss of ball from Willian Pacho, but Lucas Chevalier was interposed brilliantly (47th). However, he was less inspired a few seconds later on a free kick by Pedro Poro. Found on the left of the surface, Cristian Romero placed a crossed head that Lucas Chevalier could not repel (2-0, 48th). It was running in vinegar for Paris Saint-Germain and the third Central Kevin Danso was close to joining the party after a center of Mohammed Kudus, but the head of the Austrian was shining on the right (52nd). The match was one -sided with a dangerous free kick from Pedro Porro who was diverted by the corner wall (59th). Back to the wall, Paris Saint-Germain was going to throw its strength to return to the match. Warren Zaïre-Emery was well found by Vitinha in the surface, but his shot was pushed by a Micky Van de Ven of the big evenings (63rd). On the right of the surface, Désiré Doué was hitting hard, but Guglielmo Vicario pushed back. The sphere returned to Fabian Ruiz who was countered and Bradley Barcola was going to follow to conclude, but the referee returned to a position of offside by Fabian Ruiz (68th).

Ousmane Dembélé was trying with a shot, but he struck the frame to the right (71st). A highlight which ultimately did not give much since Tottenham resisted Parisian offensives as best he can. Vitinha also took her chance from afar without more success (80th). Finally, it was going to pay. On a ballooning in front of the surface, Vitinha then served Kang-in Lee who was going to conclude from a cross shot that stayed on the right of the frame (2-1, 85th). PSG raised the tone like Nuno Mendes whose missile was countered (89th). And finally, the Parisians were going to reverse the match in the last moments. On a discrepancy by Achraf Hakimi, Ousmane Dembélé focused in front of the goal for Gonçalo Ramos who was going to conclude from the head at close range (2-2, 90th +4). Returning from hell, PSG was tearing out a penalty shootout. In this exercise Gonçalo Ramos, Ousmane Dembélé, Kang-in Lee and Nuno Mendes succeeded for PSG while Dominic Solanke, Rodrigo Bentancur and Pedro Porro succeeded for Tottenham. Vitinha was missed by hitting the frame for PSG to the right. On the side of Tottenham, Micky Van de Ven saw Lucas Chevalier pushing his shot and Mathys Tel struck on the left of the frame. PSG therefore won 4-3 on penalties.
