An extraordinary meeting of the Board of Directors of FC Barcelona will be held this Wednesday, August 13, with financial fair play as the main point on the agenda, as reported by the Spanish media program Rac1. The discussions will focus on the excessive expenses of the various sections of the club during the 2024-2025 season, in particular that of basketball, which led to the request of a financial guarantee of 7 million euros to the leaders according to Mundo Deportivo.
However, some members of the council are reluctant to approve this measure, invoking the particular context of the electoral season, which increases the risks for those who would bring their capital. The meeting will therefore be decisive to decide the financial supervision of sections and responsibilities of managers, while the club seeks to enter the nails of financial fair play required by La Liga.
