The last Liga season has often been marked by arbitration scandals. Or rather, by campaigns used to put pressure on the referees. A tactic often used by the official television channel of Real Madrid, used to broadcasting reports against the referee of the next Merengues match several days before the meeting. Faced with this kind of behavior, Laliga and the Spanish Federation (RFEF) have decided to make a decision to limit actions of this kind. Thus, the list of referees scheduled for each day of first and second Spanish division will be unveiled only the day before the meetings.
“The Arbitral Committee for Professional Competition (CACP), body of the Spanish Royal Football Federation responsible for appointing the referees of professional football, will publish the composition of the arbitral teams of each match the day before the game, before 4 pm. This decision is part of a series of arbitration reorganization measures adopted for this season by all the actors of Spanish football. Thus, the Friday matches referees will be known on Thursday, those on Saturday on Friday, and so on for all the matches of the Laliga EA Sports and the Laliga Hypermotion “said the press release.
