Bayern Munich could well revive a track already mentioned in the past this summer before the arrival of Luis Diaz: that leading to Malick Fofana. Aged 20 and under contract with OL until 2028, the Belgian international is perceived as a profile capable of replacing Kingsley Coman on the wing. Its explosiveness, its ability to create discrepancies and its offensive versatility make it an attractive option for Bavarian leaders, who are looking for the perfect profile to take the prolonged succession of their French winger leaving for Al Nassr. As a reminder, the Gones, which have a particularly ambitious summer transfer window despite an eventful season behind the scenes, claim at least 40 million euros to sell its Belgian nugget. After having come close to administrative relegation in Ligue 2 following the decisions of the DNCG before a retropedering and the maintenance in Ligue 1, the Rhone club was able to bounce back under the impetus of the change of governance with the departure of John Textor and the arrival of Michele Kang.
On the recruitment field, OL has significantly strengthened with the arrivals of Afonso Moreira, Ruben Kluivert, Pavel Sulc and Tyler Morton, while securing the extension of Nicolás Tagliafico, executive of the workforce. Negotiations are also very advanced for the Slovak goalkeeper Dominik Greif and the Czech midfielder Adam Karabec, proof of the OL's desire to build a competitive workforce in the long term. This project is, however, accompanied by notable departures: Rayan Cherki, Alexandre Lacazette, Lucas Perri, Duje ćaleta-Car and Thiago Almada have all left the club, leaving financial margins to invest. In this context, the future of Malick Fofana could quickly become clearer: with such an activity on the market and an economic situation where each back -to -school counts, Lyon could find it difficult to resist a big offer for its young Belgian winger, especially if a club of the dimension of Bayern Munich were to put a substantial envelope on the table.
Several tracks including Fofana
However, the Fofana file is not played in a vacuum. Bayern also envisages other offensive tracks, including Nick Woltemade (Stuttgart), Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea) and Xavi Simons (RB Leipzig). According to Sky Sportthe Munich club would have already contacted Chelsea to learn about Jackson, under contract with the Blues until 2033. For its part, Xavi Simons had already been considered an alternative in the event of failure of the transfer of Florian Wirtz, finally left in Liverpool. The close ties between the former PSV nugget and the sports director of Bayern, Max Eberl, who had already recruited it in Leipzig, could play a role if the track were to be reactivated.
Still according to the German press, Christopher Nkunku also remains in the viewfinder of Bayern. The Frenchman, recruited by Chelsea for 60 million euros in the summer of 2023, should leave London well this summer. Blues are more than ever open to a sale but not to a loan. The RB Leipzig also follows its situation closely, without however considering discussions for a final return. The discussions around Nkunku are controlled by the influential agent Pini Zahavi, also representing Leroy Sané and the Munichoise Recruit Jonathan Tah. In this dense and competitive context, the track leading to Malick Fofana keeps its interest and remains today the priority profile to reorganize the attack on Bayern with the coming departure of Kinglsey Coman in Saudi Arabia.
