Arsenal made a surprise proposal of 75 million euros for the Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouameni, according to Defensa Central.

The Gunners spent more than 200 million euros for new players this summer, including Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi and Noni Madueke.

Arsenal still plans to recruit another important player before the end of the transfer window, but the next recruit should be a left side striker.

Eberechi Eze and Rodrygo were the two names most often mentioned, but Defensa Central suggests that Arsenal is looking for another Real Madrid star.

Tchouameni at Arsenal?

According to some information, Arsenal made a proposal of 75 million euros to Real Madrid for Tchouameni, by an intermediary.

Arsenal would have informed Madrid that he was ready to spend a large sum for the French midfielder.

However, the report adds that Madrid said that he was not interested in the sale of the player and that Xabi Alonso considered him a key element of his plans.

Earlier this year, Madrid spoke of the possibility of selling Tchouameni in order to recruit an axial midfielder more creative and more skillful to the ball game to replace him.

Following the retirement of Toni Kroos a year ago, Madrid lacked an axial midfielder capable of building and dictating the game from depth.

But the departure of Carlo Ancelotti from the coach position seems to have challenged any Tchouameni sales project.
