On September 14, 2004, Chelsea went to the Parc des Princes to face Paris Saint-Germain for the first meeting of group H in the Champions League. At the forefront of the Blues attack, the number 15 knows the lawn and the opponent well.

A few months earlier, Didier Drogba still wore the colors of Olympique de Marseille, the Grand Rival. The Ivorian would have stayed for several years at OM, his heart club, but the market law decided otherwise. For 38.5 million euros, and despite his attempt to get pale and miss his medical examination, Drogba is therefore a Chelsea player, behind which hides … a Marseille supporter and a Paris Saint-Germain antagonist.

He shouts “Go OM!” »To Parisian supporters!

The proof: against the PSG of Vahid Halilhodzic, where Pauleta, Jérôme Rothen, Lorik Cana, Sylvain Armand or Bernard Mendy, Didier Drogba appears to be doubled during the clear victory of his own (0-3). On the first of his two goals, we can see him approach the stands, put his hands behind the ears, then clearly chant “Go OM!” Go OM! ». On the second, the Ivorian places an unstoppable free kick for Lionel Letizi and exults Derechef, mimicking of the cut-off by posting his Marseille allegiance again.

Questioned at the microphone of Canal Plus when he left the field, Drogba denies in block having provoked the faithful of the park and responds maliciously: “No, no. I didn't say anything at all ”. The chambering is not assumed, but everyone saw it live on television. OM supporters, still bruised by his unexpected departure, love him even more at that moment, from their sofa. They will never see him again wearing the colors of their club outside of gala or charity meetings, but his love, displayed that evening Porte d'Auteuil, will never be denied.
