Villarreal clearly designated Carlos Soler (28 years old) as his priority to strengthen his midfield this summer. The Spanish environment, little used at PSG, is seen by Marcelino as the ideal profile to densify the midfielder, especially after the departures of several executives. However, despite a firm desire to complete the operation before the end of the transfer window, the file remains blocked. The Parisian club, which wishes to recover a satisfactory compensation for a player under contract until 2027, and does not yet open the door to a departure at a reduced price.

This situation annoys Villarreal's side, where the urgency rises after the physical seeds in defense and the need to compensate for the departure of Barry in Everton. While the Spanish club continues to probe the market for a central defender, they also hope for a rapid advance in the Soler file. PSG, for its part, delayed, well aware of the interest of the Spanish club. Villarreal appreciates the profile of the former Spanish international (14 selections) in particular because he already has a great experience in Liga, where he evolved in Valence from 2014 to 2022.
