It's done ! Florian Thauvin is indeed a RC Lens player. The 2018 world champion signed a three -year contract with Sang et Or, and will carry the number 10.
True to its habit, the Artesian club announced this new recruit, the sixth of the summer, with a video inspired by the very rich universe of Simples. The rendering of fun details, and the communication teams could not help slipping a small tackle in the Lille rival.
As a reminder, in 2013, Florian Thauvin had signed a contract with Lille in January before being immediately loaned to his club, Bastia, to finish the season. When summer came, the attacking midfielder had gone to the Bras-de-Fer to leave the LOSC, and finally be transferred to OM, without ever carrying (in match) the colors of the Dogues. Since then, Thauvin has been hated in Lille, and his signature in Lens will not make things right.

In the video, we can see the character representing the player, with a jersey reminiscent of that of Bastia, entering a place in the colors of Lille. This recalls one of the famous “memes” of the Simpsons, where the grandfather, Abraham, turns around immediately after entering an establishment to return to the exit.
This scene, frequently taken up on social networks, is taken from an episode of season 6, broadcast for the first time 1996. Bart finds himself working at the entrance of a cabaret. He therefore meets his grandfather, obviously used to the place. Embarrassed to come across his grandson, the latter turns his heels, and goes as quickly as he arrived. A bit like Thauvin in Lille, in a way.
