Finally good news at FC Barcelona! After several difficult weeks, marked by the prohibition to record its five new recruits and an open conflict with Marc-André Ter Stegen, the Catalan club finally sees the end of the tunnel. A recent decision could indeed delight both the team and its supporters.
From September 14, when receiving FC Valence, Barça can partially reopen the doors of the legendary Camp Nou. However, the capacity will be limited to 27,000 spectators, well below the 60,000 places initially planned for this event. This decision marks a turning point after months of work related to the vast project to modernize the stadium.
According to the Catalan daily life Mundo Deportivothe town hall of Barcelona accepted a temporary modification of the stadium operating license, thus allowing this partial, then progressive opening. An essential step before the club could hope to regain attendance close to normal in the coming months.
FC Barcelona should soon formalize the new
FC Barcelona initially planned to reopen the Camp Nou from August 10, on the occasion of the traditional Gamper trophy against Como. However, due to the necessary security checks and controls, this calendar had to be postponed.
The second phase of reopening will have to bring the capacity to 45,000 seats, and the third phase will complete the 60,000 seats. The formalization is expected this Friday.
