FC Porto cries one of its greatest legends. Winner of the Champions League, the Europa League and the Portuguese championship eight times, Jorge Costa died on Tuesday at the age of 53. The former Dragons defender succumbed to a heart attack which he was the victim on the training field of his lifelong club, said FC Porto.

International Portuguese 50 times, Jorge Costa played 15 years in Porto, before experiments in England (Charlton) and Belgium, at the Liège Standard. He then tried to embrace a career as a coach full of twists and turns, which even led him to the Banc du Tours FC for five games in the 2017-2018 season.
Since June 2024, he held the function of director of football under the aegis of President André Vilas-Boas. A rough defender and a strong lead player, Jorge Costa carried 383 the jersey of FC Porto until his retirement in 2006.
A tribute should be paid to him during the next games of the Portan club.
