After the elimination of the RC Lens against Panathinaikos last year, it is RC Strasbourg's turn to enter into the Dams of the Conference League (new official name for the competition). The training of Liam Rosenior concluded its beautiful season in 7th place in Ligue 1 and will try to play the third UEFA competition, such as the OGC Nice, Stade Rennais and LOSC since the start of this small European cup.

The drawing of the dams was carried out on Monday noon, even before the meetings of the third round, and the Alsatians inherited the winner of Vikingur Reykjavik-Brondby If. Strasbourg was in the lead but was fired first and will receive the first leg meeting on Thursday, August 21 at La Meinau, a week before taking the direction of the North.

The Vikingur would offer a trip to the capital of Iceland, the famous island north of the Atlantic. And the meeting at Vikingsvöllur promises a country meeting in front of 1,450 supporters. By facing Brondby, the Strasbourg would go a little less, namely in Denmark, west of Copenhagen. The Danish training is a favorite of its third qualifying round against the Vikingur. Stijn Spierings and his teammates finished 3rd in the championship behind Copenhagen and Midtjylland and resumed at the end of July.

Future possible adversaries from Strasbourg

The RCSA will play at the same time its first two Ligue 1 matches against FC Metz, in Saint-Symphorien on Sunday, August 17, and FC Nantes in Meinau, Sunday 24.

Crystal Palace, Rayo Vallecano, Mainz or Santa Clara, the last 5th in the Portuguese championship, are also fixed concerning their respective dam. In the event of qualification, they will be the potential opponents of Strasbourg during the league phase of the conference (six days and not eight as in the Champions League and in the Europa League).
