From “historic partner” to Ligue 1 to Principal Adversary. Canal+ has not at all liked the turn of the events taken in recent months with the LFP. Long negotiations have never succeeded. After Dazn's disengagement, the League finally launches its own platform, named Ligue 1+, without any channel+aid, neither for the production of channels, nor for distribution.

Suddenly interested in a new collaboration with Ligue 1, Canal+ has really imagined becoming the exclusive distributor of Ligue 1+, as is the case with BeIN Sports. The group chaired by Maxime Saada offered 100 million euros of guaranteed minimum (an advance on future revenues), while Nicolas de Tavernost, Managing Director of LFP Media, claimed an amount of 200 million.

By turning its back in Canal, the league has already granted itself with Internet operators as well as with Dazn to distribute the Ligue 1+ channels, at the subscription price set at 14.99 euros per month with subscription or 19.99 euros without subscription. The former broadcaster of the championship offers an L1 service, Serie A and the basketball championship for 16.99 euros.

Canal+ in clear during Rennes-OM

The replica of the “encrypted chain” is terrible. Canal+ announced the clear broadcast of the first first League match of the season, Liverpool-Bournemouth, Friday August 15 at 9 p.m. A big coup in the middle of summer when it is precisely the launch day of Ligue 1+ with the meeting of the season between Stade Rennais and OM (kick -off 8:45 pm).

Dissessor of the three European Cups in full, Canal+ launches its season on Wednesday 13 with the European Super Cup between PSG and Tottenham. The opportunity to teaser The return of the round ball to Anfield and the beginnings of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike to the Reds. The first poster of the English season, Sunday 5.30 p.m., will see Manchester United receive Arsenal. It will be on Canal+, the premium chain, but not clear.
