Erling Braut Haaland had an exceptional 2021-2022 season with Borussia Dortmund, where he literally splashed the Bundesliga. This performance fueled the lust of many major European clubs, including Real Madrid, which quickly positioned itself by contacting those around it and in particular its famous agent, Mino Raiola. At just 22 years old, the young Norwegian striker was therefore at the heart of a real showdown to attach his services.

In an interview with Time MagazineHaaland revealed the extent of the pressure he suffered at that time. He admits having spent several white nights to think about his future, due to multiple interests and enormous expectations. Real Madrid was a serious pretender, but this perspective has also created many concerns, even insomnia.

Finally, Haaland decided to follow a different path, committing with Manchester City, a club where his father Alf-Inge had evolved between 2000 and 2003. This choice, more than a simple transfer, appeared as a personal outcome for the attacker.

A winning choice. Since his arrival at the Citizens, the Norwegian striker has already won six major trophies: a Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup, two Premier League titles, a Cup of England and a Community Shield.

At 25, Erling Haaland is still one of Florentino Pérez's priorities. Recently, several Spanish media have rekindled the interest of Real Madrid for the Norwegian, especially in the context of the controversy around Vinicius.
