Bought for 51 million euros by Bayern last summer, João Palhinha will indeed leave Germany. He will find the Premier League, and this time, it is on the side of Tottenham that the Portuguese environment will put his suitcases. Targeted by Arsenal at the beginning of summer, the former Fulham player is preparing to return to London, but from a rival. Bayern Munich has given its final agreement for a loan with purchase option set at 30 million euros according to Fabrizio Romano. The agreement does not include any purchase obligation, but Tottenham will take care of the entire salary. The player is expected in the coming hours to spend his medical examination: at this stage, everything is completed.

For spurs, it's a nice blow. Palhinha's profile perfectly matches Thomas Frank's expectations, who was looking for a real sentry to stabilize his midfield. Large middle of 1m90, hard to the duel, precious to recovery and quite experienced in the Premier League, the Portuguese international seems cut to quickly win in the ranks of the Spurs. In lack of playing time in Bayern under Vincent Kompany, and crossed by competition from Kimmich, Goretzka, Pavlovic or Laimer, Palhinha sees in this loan a real chance to relaunch his career, especially as the 2026 World Cup approaches.
