FC Barcelona attacks the thorny site of goalkeepers

Marc-André Ter Stegen was successfully operated at the Bordeaux-Merignac Sport Clinic to treat its persistent low back pain. The intervention was carried out by DRE Amélie Léglise, under the supervision of the FC Barcelona medical service. The club said it was not available for the recovery and that the duration of its absence would depend on its recovery.

Already slowed down by a rupture of the patella which limited it to only nine appearances since the start of the 2024-2025 season, the 33-year-old German goalkeeper suffered from chronic back pain since the resumption. According to Sportthe doctors estimated that an operation was essential, failing which no lasting healing could be assured.
