After a marathon season, Real Madrid players are out of breath. From their entry on August 14, 2024 into a European Super Cup against Atalanta (2-0) to their heavy defeat against PSG in club World Cup (4-0), the men of Xabi Alonso have chained no less than 68 official games. An exceptional physical charge, which left traces in the Madrid locker room. To salute this effort, the club granted an exceptional bonus to players during the Club World Cup. Each player received € 50,000 for the group phase, € 80,000 for the round of 16, and € 150,000 for the semi-finals, a total envelope of € 280,000 per head. A strong financial gesture which, if it does not replace rest, underlines the club's commitment to its players.

But the most awaited reward undoubtedly remains that of rest. With almost 40 days of summer cut, including 24 days of real relaxation before the recovery, the Merengues will finally be able to blow and regenerate mentally and physically. Because the respite will be short-lived: return to Valdebebas scheduled for August 4 for a 15-day mini-response, before starting a new Liga campaign on August 19 against Osasuna, in Bernabéu.
