The tricolor world champion therefore decided to abandon the number 9 that he has worked since his arrival at Real Madrid last summer and to recover the number 10 left vacant by Luka Modric, who had been wearing it since 2017.
For several days, the Spanish press had not ended up wondering about the identity of the successor to the Croatian playmaker, who went to AC Milan. Two names were regularly mentioned: Kylian Mbappé, who had not necessarily expressed the intention to change his jersey, and Arda Güler, the young Turkish prodigy.
