The new strong man of AC Milan spoke. Faced with a club in crisis, his first declaration has an oath.

AC Milan comes out of a nightmarish season. An eighth place in Serie A, worse ranking for a decade, and an absence of any European competition. After the failure of the Sergio Conceição era, the club recalled the man of the last successes, the scudetto coach in 2011: Massimiliano Allegri. His return was expected like that of the Messiah. For his first speaking, he did not disappoint. He made a clear promise, a non -negotiable goal that will guide all season.

Allegri: “The objective is the Champions League”

This promise is the return to the Champions League. Without detour.
“The goal for this season is to return to the Champions League, because a club like AC Milan must play in Europe”, He hammered at a press conference. No tongue in wood, no false-fUyers. Allegri fixes a course and assumes the pressure that goes with it. He knows that this is the minimum union for a seven -time club winner of the competition.
“This is the only objective for me from the start”, he insisted.

To achieve this, he does not start from anything. He knows that the situation has changed since his first visit over ten years ago. But the mission remains the same: bringing the club where its place is. And for that, he plans to rely on experienced players capable of carrying this project. The signature of Luka Modric, freshly arrived from Real Madrid, is perfectly written in this logic.

The oath of Allegri: how he intends to bring Milan to the top

The Modric bet to change everything

At 39, Croatian is not a simple recruit. It is a symbol, a leader. “Modric is a confirmed champion who does not need to be presented. It's a model ”, underlined Allegri. He sees in him the perfect relay on the ground, the one who can breathe the discipline and the requirement necessary to achieve this objective. It is a bet on experience, on the culture of winning.

The road will be long. Allegri knows it. But by immediately posing such a clear and ambitious goal, he sends a strong message to his players, leaders and especially supporters. The time of doubt is over, that of the reconquest began. The promise is made. Now remains to hold it. The first test arrives quickly, with a preparation match against Arsenal which will give a first indication on the capacity of this “New Look” Milan to hold the oath of its coach.
