During the first half of a pre-season match against the Excelsior Maassluis, a Dutch third division team, Greenwood scored its first goal in the 28th minute and assured the hat-trick only 11 minutes later. Marseille led five goals to the break and the score remained unchanged until the end of the match, coach Roberto de Zerbi having made eleven half-time changes.
Greenwood marks a hat -trick in 11 minutes
Greenwood already seems to continue on his momentum after his first season in Ligue 1, where he scored 21 goals in 34 appearances, the most prolific season of his career so far. He was therefore associated with large European clubs such as Atlético Madrid.
Greenwood could play a leading role in a six-part documentary in the 2024-25 Marseille season, which will be broadcast on the club's YouTube channel. In the last episode, the 23 -year -old striker was the target of a violent tirade of Zerbi's coach.
A Dutch team of lower division undermined
Greenwood could still change teams this summer, with a potential return to La Liga a year after his successful loan to Getafe. But he may want to continue what he started in the south of France, after having helped De Zerbi to qualify for the Champions League, and could have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a partner in attack next season, the former arsenal player who apparently agreed to return for a second visit to Marseille.
