The blue coach decided for his starting eleven against Germany, with an unexpected choice in the heart of the central defense.

For this quarter-final against Germany, Laurent Bonadei did not deviate from his habits: 4-3-3 offensive, stability of executives, and confidence in the collective. But when he announced his eleven to his group this Saturday morning, a decision attracted attention. The tricolor coach decided in a key sector: the central hinge, where he was to designate the partner of Griedge Mbock, back in the eleven after having missed the entire group phase. And it was on this point that Bonadei surprised.

Bonadei makes a daring bet in defense

Between the young Alice Sombath and Maëlle Lakrar, the duel was open. Finally, the 20 -year -old Lyonnaise retains the coach's confidence. A decision dictated by the rhythm: Sombath, solid during the first round, presents physical guarantees that Lakrar, also affected in recent weeks. The staff preferred not to align two players lacking in competition. The Mbock-Sombath association therefore seems to aim for balance, between experience and continuity. For the rest, the defense remains unchanged, with Bacha and Almeida on the sides, and Peyraud-Magnin in the cages.

In the offensive animation, Bonadei trusts his trio-shared: Katoto, Malard and Cascarino, all decisive in the group phase. The middle, meanwhile, revolves around Geyoro, Jean-François and Captain Karchaoui, replaced in the axis to balance the races. No surprises therefore in these two sectors, where cohesion and automatisms take precedence above all. The workforce is complete, and Bonadei confirmed at a press conference that all the players are operational for this decisive meeting.

Revenge time has come

The French women's team remains on three victories in three games and addresses this quarter with a serious outsider status. But facing Germany, an opponent who had eliminated him in the semi-finals of the previous euro, it is also a form of revenge that is played out. It is up to them to transform tactical stability into mental strength to get a place in the last square. The mission promises to be delicate, but this time, the Blue is ready.
