Free of any contract after his departure from AC Milan, Serbian striker Luka Jovic is about to bounce back to Getafe, a club which recently activated an agreement with the player to start the procedures for the finalization of his signature. At 27, Jovic still has to successfully see his medical examination and reach a wage agreement with the Madrid club according to AS. The main challenge for Getafe lies in the management of its salary ceiling, while Jovic received 3.28 million euros per year in Milan. The imminent Uche sale to a Premier League club could however release sufficient funds. In addition, the probable departure of Borja Mayoral, one of the best paid players in the workforce, is envisaged in order to facilitate this financial operation.

Passed by Real Madrid between 2019 and 2022, with a loan to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2021, then by Fiorentina before joining Milan in 2023, Luka Jovic displays a course marked by several experiences in Europe. During his two seasons in Lombardy, he played 47 games, scored 13 goals and contributed to the coronation in Italian Supercup. Eager to find the Liga and Madrid life, the attacker seems to have made his priority from Getafe, despite the persistent interest of the Mexican club Cruz Azul, who had started negotiations. This possible transfer symbolizes a new chapter for Jovic, who still hopes to relaunch his career in a championship which he knows well.
