Arsenal loves going to draw in Chelsea. In recent years Peter Cech, Willian, David Luiz, Jorginho, Kai Havertz, Raheem Sterling and even Kepa Arrizabalaga, already this summer, have all gone from the Cobham training center to that of Shenley, for various successes. It is now Noni Madueke's turn to make this short trip between the two clubs. Having become not undesirable but rather replacing in the ever -increasing workforce of Blues, the English international has seen his status being more and more questioned in recent weeks.

He no longer really had any choice than to leave. The winger has just signed a 5 -year contract in favor of the Gunners for the sum of € 60 million. “We are delighted to announce that the English International Noni Madueke joined us for a long -term contract”said the Gunners' press release. Madueke becomes the 4th recruit of summer after the coming of Martín Zubimendi, Christian Nørgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga, from Chelsea too, as signed above. In two years on the Blues side, the 23 -year -old will have become an English international (7 selections).

Madueke no longer had his place in Chelsea

Recruited from the PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2023 against € 35 million, he had a rather satisfactory first year, despite some small injuries which delayed his adaptation. Enzo Maresca was expecting a lot from him this season to the point of making him a holder but his confidence was lost over the weeks and he ended up tasting the bench. The reinforcements of the last weeks of Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro and Estevao signed his end of the course.

Like his entries at the club World Cup, Madueke lost his fluidity and gained in lack of confidence. He had to change his environment. In Arsenal, he finds a team that continues his progress season after season. The 2nd of the Premier League of the past season is still looking for a first title of champion of England since 2004 but his semi-final of the Champions League, eliminated by the future winner, is a sign of his ambitions seen upwards. It is now up to the winger to show what he is capable of with his new team.
