In search of offensive reinforcements, Olympique de Marseille explores several tracks to boost its offensive sector this summer. If the rumor of a return from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang occupies the front of the stage, another much more advanced file mobilizes the Marseille management: that of Igor Peaceão. The Brazilian winger of Feyenoord has already agreed to OM, seduced by the proposed project.
But a brake stroke has occurred and the latest news from the Netherlands have sowed doubt. Holder in the previous preparation match against Cambuur, Peaceão (25 years old) missed the friendly meeting against the Union Saint-Gilloise (1-1) on Saturday. According to several Dutch media, he was injured in training the day before. Feyenoord spoke of a simple blow requiring exams, ensuring that it was not a pretext to facilitate an imminent departure.
Feyenoord claims 30 million euros
This setback comes when discussions between the two clubs are intensifying. After a rejected first offer, OM sent a 24 million euros proposal, in the form of a loan with compulsory purchase option. A formula again refused by Feyenoord, who hopes to obtain at least 30 million euros to let his player go, still under contract until 2029.
The Peaceão injury could therefore delay an agreement between the two camps. The Marseille club intended to accelerate the file in the coming days, but is now waiting to know more about the player's physical state before going further.
Author of a very successful 2024-2025 season, Igor Peaceão has established himself as a framework of the Feyenoord. In Eredivisie, he scored 16 goals and delivered 14 assists in 34 games. In the Champions League, he also shone with seven decisive actions in eleven appearances.
