For several years now, Carlo Ancelotti has known himself in the viewfinder of Spanish justice. Implicated for not having declared his income related to image rights in 2014, the former Real Madrid coach did not escape the sanction. This Wednesday, the Spanish media confirmed that the Transalpin had been sentenced to one year in prison for tax fraud.
As explained MarcaCarlo Ancelotti will also have to pay a fine of 386361, 93 euros. He also loses his “Right to public aids and subsidies, as well as the right to benefit from tax advantages for three years”. The decision of the Madrid court follows the trial held on April 2 and 3. Carlo Ancelotti had appeared to say that he had not wanted to defraud the Treasury and that he had been poorly advised.
The “mister” was however bleached similar charges which brought in 2015. Three months ago, the Spanish prosecutor's office had requested four years and nine months in prison, and a fine of 3.2 million euros against him. Carlo Ancelotti has therefore been widely spared and the duration of the sentence being less than two years for a non -violent crime, it should avoid any risk of incarceration to the new coach of Brazil.
Carlo Ancelotti can blow
The lawyers of Carlo Ancelotti had for their part asked that their customer will not be sentenced, recalling that the latter had reimbursed the major part of the amount claimed. They will therefore have been generally heard and followed by the prosecution.
This calamitous chapter is therefore finished for the seventy-six-year-old man who will now be able to focus exclusively on his mission with the Seleçao. Carlo Ancelotti's objective is to allow Brazil to make a 2026 World Cup much better than the previous ones.
