The French women's team begins its Euro this Saturday evening (9 p.m.) in Zurich against England, one of the shocks of the group phase. Indeed, Griedge Mbock, captain of the French team, will not participate in the shock against England. Touched a calf for a week, the central defender has not trained for two days. The coach Laurent Bonadei confirmed his package this Friday at a press conference on Friday.
“Unfortunately, she feels a little embarrassment in the calf. We will not take a risk, she still needs specific care, she will be with us, but not in the field ”said the tricolor technician. The medical supervision remains however reassuring as to the evolution of the injury.
An absence of short duration?
The exams recently passed by Mbock have indeed revealed “no tear, blood pocket,” said Bonadei.
“It is a fleeting fatigue as could have had Amel (Majri). It takes a little more time. I am quite confident that she can join us quickly ”he continued.
In the meantime, the question of the armband remains unanswered. The name of the interim captain will only be revealed at the time of the match. Three vice-capital are expected: Sakina Karchaoui, Sandie Toletti or Grace Geyoro. A new leadership will have to emerge to ideally launch the tournament despite this lack of size.
