The former Argentinian international, passed by Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille, arrives at the Emirates to compensate for the departure of Carlos Cuesta. The Spanish technician, former assistant of Arteta, began a new challenge in his career by agreeing to become the main coach of Parma Calcio 1913 last June.
A first experience in Europe
Heinze and Arteta evolved together under the colors of PSG during the 2001-02 season. The versatile Argentinian defender rallied the French capital in July 2001, while the Spanish milieu had arrived six months earlier, on loan from FC Barcelona.
As a coach, the South American technician remains on experiences mainly on his native land. He was at the head of the CD Godoy Cruz (2015), the AA Argentinos Juniors (2016-2017), the CA Vélez Sarsfield (2017-2020) and the CA Newell's Old Boys (2023), interspersed with a MLS passage on the Bench of Atlanta United (2021).
