Since last summer, the TV rights crisis has not ended. After Dazn's false departure and the withdrawal of Canal+, the professional league will launch its own chain, which will broadcast 8 matches out of 9 this season before obtaining all of the events. Two providers are in the running to produce this new antenna, but clubs are still waiting for specific answers.

Thus, the situation around the future of the championship remains in the vagueness, and Nicolas de Tavernost, boss of LFP Média, is found at the heart of criticism. Responsible for solving this thorny file, he faces increasing pressure from clubs, many to denounce a lack of clarity and management perceived as too rigid, in particular vis-à-vis Canal+.

The club presidents criticize him for his lack of flexibility with Canal+, which many consider essential to French football, reveals

. Some dispute a sometimes not very clear speech, especially on the Dazn file. During the last assembly, he spoke of an “option” concerning the platform, leaving doubt when the situation seemed to be settled. The delay in communication and uncertainty about the payment of the 85 million euros promised by Dazn also arouse tensions.

For his part, the former Boss of M6, regrets that some club leaders are passing by Canal+ on his back. These difficulties arise in an already tense climate between clubs, LFP and French Football Federation (FFF). Some clubs even criticize the president of the FFF Philippe Diallo for wanting to strengthen its control over all of French football to the detriment of professional actors.

Finally, the question of the payment of 20 million euros in Qatari sponsorship, provided for in the distribution agreement with BeIN Sports, remains unanswered. Faced with these uncertainties, the clubs demand rapid responses, while the deadline to finalize TV rights is approaching. Nicolas de Tavernost will have to redouble their efforts to appease concerns and unlock this major crisis in French football.
